Man, are you guys like the super-friends of Robotech, or something? Have some dignity and don't just pimp other people's stuff all the time...

Yeah> really. This thing is kinda dumb..
You are turning to a fan of Robotech Master and Captain JLS.....
Instead of Robotech....
If it's so terrible, both of you, why the fuck do you come here? What a couple of shitty guys. Let's see your blog.
Khyron, if you have forgotten, this blog is a central of all robotech news to make it easy for all fans to know what's going on. If I didn't keep track of this stuff, I would like to know when SSL had a new show. This is a center for the community. A center for announcements along with news and other things. The community needs to stay together, not be rip a part by the same old stupid flamers.
It's no wonder why we lose so many hardcore involved Robotech fans on the net. The complainers make it am unpleasant space. Instead of complaining, you should give ideas on how to get the fans together and promote robotech creativity.
Hm,,,,,,,, so i should make a blog saying.....
Robotech companion Blog, says that Robotech master says.... that Captain JLS says...
No we do not lose people because of ocmplains. Ou contraire.. We lose people because they are tired of being "SHUT UP"ed..
Sorry but it is time for diferent opinions regardsing robotech. And the tirany ends...
There are lot of people thinking TSC is BAD.( Not mediocre... but Extremely B.A.D).. that the YUNES being fired is a necesity....
And rest asured their voice will be heard...
Replying to comment directly above. Coughs. Been there, done that. That's not new. RDFHQ and other hardcore fans been following that state of mind for 6 years. Everyone who is hardcore has problems with Shadow Chronicles as well.
Our voices have been heard about all this for 6 years long. Casual robotech fans aren't interested in the hatred. That's true. The hardcore fans get bored of bitching after some point where they realize it's a waste of time because nothing will be changed. Therefore, they just leave or they quiet down. Personally, I just quiet down and returned to following my own continuity, the show.
No one is stopping you from continuing the bitching. There's RDFHQ and RT.com to do it, as everywhere else. You can bitch here about HG if you want, but lay off of bitching about me. You don't like my blog, you don't offer your own content to post. You don't offer creative things I could do. You don't offer anything. You just enjoy bashing me, because Harmony Gold won't listen to your complaints. You're the only outspoken person here along with this unknown guy unless thats you too. I can tell you, I been there and I have done that. I been in this game since 1998 online. I bitched up a storm during the creation of RT.com and beyond for sometime. I'm older now and it's a total waste of time. You don't get results from uncivilized bashing. With your shit and how inactive the community actually is, Robotech is becoming its own dead waste too.
Dont think i am new at the game... not in the game since 1998.... but in the game since 2000...
I am bitching about you because what you are doing is wrong. Definetly not a way to lead a blog.
Which is why your blog is not quite visited...and even less commented...
Robotecvh already has become its own dead waste...... and all because of people like you... losing interest in fighting for it..( getting tired i guess)
The comments are here in order to WAKE YOU UP.... :),
So that you can make a more interesting RT blogg... and thus more visited...
Keep saying im old and tired wont do any good...
If you are so interested, then you should give me ideas of what I could be doing instead of criticizing me without alternatives. Your bashing does not motivate me at all. I'm not as interested and outgoing as I was about the subject. I'm interested in seeing the community reclaim Robotech and be more productive with fan-driven creations however. Fans need to stop being so dependent on Robotech.com to give them what they want. They need to take their own action and create. My blog was meant to be a center to help promote what others have or are doing. However, I have become tired myself again with Robotech that I'm not as driven. Obviously it doesn't help when the fandom isn't that outgoing anymore to begin with.
So, you're so fired up still. Help, don't hurt.
> If you are so interested, then you
> should give me ideas of what I
> could be doing instead of
> criticizing me without alternatives.
I already have, to which I never received even a consillatory reply. Nevertheless, I feel that I've done my part and deserve to "bitch" (as you put it) because despite my attempts to "give ideas on how to get the fans together and promote robotech creativity" (as you put it) have not received a single message from someone interested in joining a 'team' rather than making their own, indivdual Robotech webpages and blogs.
So don't tell me to shut up, because as far as I'm concerned, you stepped into the Internet and made your blog open for comments--this means 'good' and 'bad' types--just like all the other Robotech fans who want "feedback" but all they really want is a proverbial slap on the ass for a job well-done when indeed if one is just recycling news from other sites or supporting Harmony Gold's cause because it's easy to support, then they DESERVE 'bad' comments.
'Bad' comments should, for all intents and purposes, beget the will to improve oneself so as to avoid more 'bad' comments. Unfortunately again, more Robotech fans seem interested in taking the easy way out and denouncing critics as "extremists" or saying that phrases are "uncalled for." What I said that started this little brouhaha was criticism. Take it and improve from it or leave it and accept you're gonna keep getting people telling you like it is.

You should use your blog to openly say what we all mean..... positive or negative...( especialy negative)
Not just re tell what the "yunies" already did......
You have the means... just USE THEM... just tell THE TRUTH...
"despite my attempts to..."
Khyron, why not tell me what these are. I'm not unaware of this group you were trying to form. Tell me whatever else you wanted, because I surely know what you hate. I just know you want me to post my own opinions and such.
ya bunch of whiners.

I sent an e-mail to a number of Robotech webpage/blog operators dated 17 May 2007, including to the address listed as webmaster.at.robotechcompanion. The point of this was simple: Regardless of our differences in beliefs, we should all feel welcome in a single home. The project is currently titled "Robotech Revolution" and is accessible via URL at http://revolution.united-earth-group.com.
My apologies if the mail never reached you, but my guess has always been that most Robotech fans want the same thing: A Robotech website, devoid of financial interest, which allows it's fans to express any well-reasoned opinion they wish. In order to forge this, we should get the people who are willing to work (as webmasters/bloggers have already proven) to join together. You were invited; I still would love to join forces.
This is the best plan I can think-up, so I say: 'There's no reason not to do it.'

Good Lord you guys need a competent web designer. Really, go get one if you want your up-and-coming site to get any traction whatsoever.
As for the complaints against this blog, I don't really see the point. The whole goal of this blog was to take over for Darkwater in relaying Robotech news after he took his blog down. This site was DONE that, and STILL does it better than Robotech.com does.
Is a good deal of the news somewhat silly and irrelevant, especially as regards the fandom? Yeah, but it's still NEW Robotech product/news, and I'd rather have all the news from across the internet than a cherry-picked selection from a single webmaster (given your whining on Robotech.com, I thought you guys hated totalitarian control of information?).
For the record, I liked Shadow Chronicles. It's not a perfect movie and it has more than a little Star Wars-y feel to it, but it's still better than that godawful Sentinels project would have been (based on Macek's notes). And it's NEW, OFFICIAL Robotech, something we hadn't had in 20 years. I'd pick and choose my battles here and just forward any suggestions on Shadow Chronicles 2 to the folks at Robotech.com. Any suggestions and they'll get the idea of what worked and what didn't. More productive really than whining about the movie and insisting the whole thing should just be scrapped.
And for the record, I work on a Robotech fan project as well: the Robotech: Enemy Frontier TC for WarCraft III (possibly moving to StarCraft 2).
And what did it take over actualy???
Darkwater's comments were at least original. Here we have only reteling of what other said, and no comments...
So this site NEVER HAD DONE THAT..
Are you kidding..everything does better then robotech.com does...
For the record.... try
www.robotech.united-earth-group.com
Way more then a competent team there. But still you completely missed the point havent you...
SHadow chronicles not perfect??...lol that is the best comment it had...( the average comments are NOT THAT BAD).....
And my 2 cents are... It is soooo obad that it couldnt have been worse... anyhow...and anytime
ANd you pointed out...Is it good only because it is official??///
As there are some interesting fan projects with a greater animation quality....so they are bad because they are not official
www.robotech.united-earth-group.com
Ah yes...the Robotech CG movie group with a wondrous ability to badly re-use Star Wars music in its trailers (my group was one of the early affiliates). Yeah, some wonderful work over there (and a nice-looking site), but I'll believe the quality of the project when I see the final product. Most fan projects are half-baked ramblings that nearly always flounder in the area that actually matters: story. I have every right to be skeptical of the quality of fan productions.
The goal of the Revolution group seems to be creating an unofficial Robotech.com, which is fine. I just question this almost elitist attitude I'm sensing from you guys on this.
Guys, this is a blog done by a guy more interested in reporting the news than making it. That's his choice, just as Darkwater chose to adopt an anti-Harmony Gold persona to color everything he said. If you don't like it, I wish you the best in making your own blog.
I don't like Shadow Chronicles just because it's an official product: I like it because it's a genuinely entertaining movie. Sure, there are animation problems galore with the CG and the female character designs really are ridiculous. Both of those can and will be fixed in the sequel, we have already been assured. However, the music is fantastic, the plot grand in scope, and the characters are genuinely likeable. It's a Star Wars-y movie and I enjoy it for that. It's also a great jumping-off point for future projects, so I can forgive some minor plot flaws and the generally-simplistic plot. Frankly, I think most of the critics are being overly-critical of this movie due to mis-placed nostalgia for the original series (which is frankly only a little more sophisticated than the Shadow Chronicles movie, and at times much poorer animated).
Fan-created Robotech projects can be fun to watch, but they are only fan projects with little to no relevance to the Robotech continuity (yes, I say that as a guy writing scenarios for a fan-game based on Sentinels). While you moan and groan over something you choose not to have a part in (feedback is critical in the making of Shadow Chronicles 2), I'm looking forward to what the future brings with the Shadow Chronicles movies.
On a somewhat-related note, why did the original criticism of this blog come up anyway in response to THIS story (that being the Space Station Liberty podcast)? SSL is one of the best fan productions on the web, especially regarding series and SC discussion. I don't see the problem with The Masters letting you guys know you could call in to be a part of the show.
I dont see any Star wars music there... I am sure pal you fell a sleep years ago and woke up yesterday. Cayse you miraculously fail to see the last 2 years...
Nevertheless.... With 2 trailers online, third on the way, First on google( type ROBOTECH MOVIE)...wow above TSC...
And animation qyality which surpases the precious TSC.. by 100
This is the best RT fanwork you can find anywhere,,,,
And why FAN...Cause it doesnt have a licence. And is started with intention of being COMERCIAl...
So keep pissing me off.. and il change the name and all Copy right asociated things...and make it COMERCIAL...
So lets see who is gonna laugh... on having a better CGI then PRECIOUS TSC>>>>>>> And yet being so similar to RT the old RT fans will adore it.....and BUY IT...
U.E.G
But on the other hand..We do have loads of SW music in TSC....which is comercial...
Hm i wonder.. What does JOHN WILIAMS think about that... Maybe he should be notified...
"Precious" TSC? I just like the movie, and think its pros far outweigh the cons. I'm just not going to burn Harmony Gold in effigy for not making a 120% perfect, fandom-pandering movie. They made a perfectly enjoyable movie that was DESIGNED to be a starting point for future projects that would improve upon what they had started. No need to make more of the movie than that.
As for the "Star Wars music" comment, I remember the first trailer that team ever released for the UEG movie used music from Attack of the Clones, and good god it was badly timed (well, the trailer as a whole was bad) I could have sworn the second trailer used SW music as well, but it's been over a year since I've seen UEG stuff.
BTW, I have the soundtrack to TSC, and outside of that one track that runs during the first "Space Station Libery" sequence in the movie (which is blatantly John Williams' "Battle of Heroes"), it's all original. It's just written in the same style Williams chose for Star Wars. I'm sure that as a musician, Williams would be proud to see someone else pick up that style and do something interesting with it.
btw, your threats on making your movie "commercial" are just laughable: we both know the reason you haven't made your movie commercial is that Harmony Gold would sue you all and shut the project down for copyright infringement. So it looks to me like you're in Harmony Gold's debt for using their property without permission, yet they allow you to continue making your movie.
Please READ .....and THINK
If we change the TITLE, and all the COPYRIGHT infirgment issues.... WHO ARE THEY GONNA SUE????.....hahahhahahaaa....Damn use da brain pal....
You just dont see how powerless the Big daddy HG is here.....Hahhaaa.
I am just astounded by some people stupidity....
For the record.... U.E.G studios is in planing stage of an all original ANIME( mecha)... offcourse 100 percent comercial....
For the record 2... The damn Robotech in title this time is a menace... and influences badly on any product so.... Really... really.... be gratefull even someone is still interested in that..
U.E.G
It is amazing how HG is brainwashing some people here. I guess that is what Mcckiever can do... On the other hadn he sure doesnt know how to do what he needs to do....
Nice to see that when the UEG people can't win an argument, they resort to insults and childish antics. What an interesting look into the mindset of such "professionals" as the UEG group, as evidenced by their representative! I'm looking right at your home page right now, which has a big image of the SDF-1 right there. Your mecha in the gallery are modernized variants on old Robotech mecha (although I have to admit, they look nice). You use Robotech characters in your wallpapers. You can change the name all you like...it makes no difference if you're still using Harmony Gold/Big West mecha.
Besides, I doubt anyone would care about this movie if it didn't have the Robotech name, and wasn't attempting to tell a Robotech story. That's the cold, honest truth, because it's difficult to get anyone to care about anything on the internet. Your team's work is very impressive, but it's still using copyritten material and thus is still sue-able by HG.
Now, your "original ANIME" production (can it even be called that if it isn't made in Japan?) is perfectly legal. Sell that all you like, and best of luck with it.
60 percent of mecha is redesigned completely.(and cant be touched by law. They are already protected as U.E.G designwork)
Another 40 percent + SDF-1 is a peace of cake to redesign........i am quite close to that decision...
Same goes for characters...
+ Wrong again... Robotech is unfortunately a BURDEN(a heavy one)
So leaving it behind is a relief, and certainly will be positive.
That is the cold honest truth......
U.E.G has an invitation for this year international animation festival( septemner 20-22)...
So also is a positive thing...
U.E.G
Copyright is a so fragile issue....and problems can easily be avoided...without leaving a single reason for a SUE...
And yet still using some good ideas....
Yes, Robotech is SUCH a burden to you, what with your group name, your project concept, your website, your trailers, and most of your resources wrapped around it. [/sarcasm]
If you're going to do something original, than by all means do something original. If the Robotech name is such a "burden" to you, than I'm sure your entire movie could exist easily without anthing tying it to the franchise. That includes story, mecha, characters, the whole 9 yards. Since it's so "easy" to retune those elements to an orignal IP and Robotech is such a minor part of this project, go do it. No sense using the Robotech IP if it's not a major part of your project.
Thing is, I think you're actually fond of using the Robotech name because it's the only way 9/10 of your audience will even care about your project. If the name was that much of a "burden," you would have dropped it long ago. This project has been in development for how many years now?
Hahha. No no no. I am eager to backstab the daddy HG for beaing assholes....
Sell something which is soo "robotech" and yet soo diferent that i cant be SUED....
I see now you are starting to be scared.
This project is in its current development for only 3 months ( all the previous efforts died). So this is a whole new project. With a major work about to be done in the folowing months...
So it is a nick a time for changing ....hahahaaa..
Hahhaa..... i guess you need to wake up and see how small robotech is. on its way to be completely forgoten..... thanks to daddy HG
If it is gonna be retuned... nothing is gonna be called robotech...
And the group name, ,website, trailers can be changed in a matter of minutes...
You would be suprised how adaptive our concept is...
Actualy been thinking about removing the BURDEN for quite some time....
Robotech is a dead Horse. With a dead audience. So opening a movie for whide audience is a bliss..
Hahhaaaa.
For the record...
Our domain is
www.united-earth-group.com ( robotech is only a subdomain. so can be changed in a matter of seconds to...
Genesis.united-earth-group.com( or anything else...)
Hahhahahhahaaa. now really scared i guess....
U.E.G
Yeah, Robotech is a "dead horse," which is why of course the Shadow Chronicles DVD sold very well, we're going to see a SC sequel in a few years, the original series continues to sell well on DVD, and a great number of current anime fans can point to Robotech being the series that brought them into anime.
Exactly what reason would I have to be scared of your project? The project I do (a computer game Total Conversion) isn't in any danger whatsoever of being in conflict with your project; I LIKE Shadow Chronicles; and if the writing in your movie is anywhere near as bad as your writing in these blog comments, you're nowhere near approaching Galactica-calibre pathos.
And for the record, I have my doubts you're actually part of that UEG team. I get the feeling that team would be wary of having YOU as their representative. You don't exactly show the project in its best light.
I do find it ironic, though, that you mock Shadow Chronicles when your "Robotech" project is allegedly Robotech in name only, and a reluctant one at that.
Shadow chronicles is a discrase. And is no Robotech in any way....
All the good sales stories come from poeple who do sel it( and are known to be liars)...So cut it out. It is apsolutely not true. What do you sepose they will say?...Admit their project is a failure?
No they shamelesly manipulate people like you are.
Regarding the U.E.G . All of the above is what we an do... but will not.
Genesis will be released(as schedueled in october)as a non comercial product. and production on new anime will begin also as schedueled...
Luckily those 3+ years from now we will be having our own franchise...And see Mckiever om conventions( if he isnt fired till then...)
Calm down, man. I'm totally against fans who want to sit-back and let Robotech be run the way that Harmony Gold wants it to be run, but letting them get you so riled-up that you can't resist a battle speaks more on your side than theirs.
There's an old American saying that says "Be the bigger man." Contrary to newer American stuff, I tend to like it. Critics and supporters will always exist but they will always be inferior to creators; Mr. U.E.G., I reccomend you take your leave and let your "actions speak louder than words" so that they can keep using words alone to describe Robotech.

My point is that merely whining about the movie not being made your way won't solve anything: you give Harmony Gold your opinion with your wallet and your feedback. Whining didn't stop Lucas from making the Star Wars prequels, or from the Terminator rights owners making Terminators 3 and (soon to come) Terminator 4. Just don't bitch if a great deal of other people like what they put out.
You guys are relentless in choosing to work against Harmony Gold rather than trying to positively work WITH them to improve the product overall. You have to face the fact that so long as the broader audience HG is aiming for and the Robotech fanbase overall likes the SC line of movies, there will be more. You can either face reality and try to encourage positive evolution of the existing product, or you can just sit in your little worlds there and pretend the rest of the world doesn't exist. What you guys are doing is the modern equivalent of the 5 year old whining that they'll pick up their toys and go home when things didn't go their way.
It is apsolutely imposible to in any way improve the product they have. It must be put into non canon and alternate universe.
If/when that happens we are opened for all kind of discusions..and improvements.
There is no positive evolution..just manipulation and lying anout the phantom new fans...
They should be all around us.. but yet non has showed up ..
Andwithout new fans franshise dies. As simple as that in the cruel entertainment world.
And this is just the begining. It will be louder and louder and louder. Because Yune manipulations will be stopped...
No Robotech fanbase overall hates it. The Yunies are the ones lovin it( totaly diferred from robotech fanbase)...and totaly differed from normal common anime fan...(whose criteria is at least decent)
Just too much manipulation at stake here. Too much....
Wow you Yunie comparisons never cease to amaze me. You still seam to fail to see how small robotech is at the moment( by whose fault). And this ridiculous "new product" - i still fail to see what is new here( old designwork, old graphics), aint helping.
You say--- new fans all over(???), you say it is doin good(???)
I say --- I am the president of USA.
Both things are suported by nothing, and evidently not true. So if you think people around are really stupid,,,, you are gonna keep saying it
I sure hell wont say i am a president of USA...hahha
Mr U.E.G
What a suprise: once again, I make a reasoned argument, and once again the response is random gibberish. You won't have to worry about debating with me here on this issue after this post, because to be quite frank you bore me. You troll on message boards and blog like this one and Robotech.com pretending to be some enlightened anti-hero, yet you write like a 5-year old and anyone with a mediocre IQ can run circles around you in an actual debate. I rather enjoy debating with fellow fans over aspects of my hobbies, but you don't debate...you annoy.
Before I go, however, let me relay you a story of a franchise that once underwent a similar scenario to the one Robotech is currently in:
It's the mid-1990s, and the Transformers franchise lies in ruin. The toys no longer fly off the shelves, and the once-legendary (although to me, quite abysmal) original Transformers series is now over 10 years old and largely considered a relic. To revitalize the franchise, Hasbro decides to create a new Transformers television series championing a new toy line based on transforming animals. Hell, let's even pioneer television animation and make it one of those new-fangled CG animation shows.
Hasbro searches for a while and decides NOT upon a Japanese studio like the original Transformers, but an up-and-coming CANADIAN studio called Mainframe to do the animation for the series. They also pick a couple of longtime cartoon writers (Bob Forward and Larry Ditillio) to be the head writers, tasked with the job of making a NEW Transformers series that can stand on its own and bring in a new generation of Transformers fans.
The first episode aires, and the longtime Transformers community is shocked and disgusted by how the new show seems to completely ignore the original series. "Where's the original Transformers?" they said. "What's with this ugly CG animation?" they said. "eew...transforming animals?!" they said. "Transformers have souls?" they said. Yet, out there in the cold confines of the internet, Ditillio and Forward were watching the fan reactions with interest. For some reason the fans were interpreting the mentioned "Great War" between the Maximals and Predacons as the "Great War" between the Autobots and Deceptacons! "Well, why not!" they said, their knowledge of the original Transformers being extremely limited.
Slowly, Transformers: Beast Wars begins to gain momentum, drawing in new Transformers fans like never before! The old fans who stuck around to see the Beast Wars saga unfold were astonished at the quality of the writing, how Ditillio and Forward were going in-depth into a new Transformers mythos, broadening the Transformers universe. Suddenly, Beast Wars was looking rather cool.
Something else interesting was happening as well: as noted, Ditillio and Forward were reading the various Transformers message boards (although I suppose in those days they were USEnets), and they were learning about the original Transformers. Slowly, the original Transformers were beginning to get incorporated into the Beast Wars storyline, while still keeping the focus on the Beast Wars characters. By the end of the series, Beast Wars had done the incredible (SPOILER WARNING):
.
.
...it had become a sequel AND prequel to the original Transformers in Season 2 & 3.
.
.
.
Ditillio and Forward never forgot the help they got from the fans in IMPROVING their product, every episode name-dropping the fans in the show. Through cooperation between fan and maker, the show became what I think is the best Transformers show ever made, FAR beyond that nostalgic POS original series that everyone so blindly loves. Sadly, Beast Wars never has received the recognition it deserves for revitalizing the Transformers in the public eye, and just plain being a DAMN good show...one that was fairly weak in the beginning but became something fantastic.
That is what we could see with Shadow Chronicles if we can all just work together with Harmony Gold to help improve the show they have. It's fascinating just how many similarities there are between Beast Wars and Shadow Chronicles. Why not one more?
Just asking, but when was the last time that Harmony Gold asked for public opinion aside from retarded poll questions like "Who should Rick Hunter choose between Lisa and Minmei?" and "If we released this shitty product, would you still buy it?"
I'm not trying to blow things out of proportion, but Harmony Gold's guys strike me as either self-centered, uncaring, or just lazy. To their credit, I think that Tom Bateman is a great guy and, given the choice, I'd have him lead the franchise as well as fan-relations. But the truth is that they don't paint a good picture for themselves: Posts from staff on Robotech.com usually only come when they're a) enforcing the rules; or b) pimping their events or products. The result is an egotistical, almost inhuman spectre which, while likely not the entire picture of their characters, has the immediate effect of turning-off people who might believe that Harmony Gold would listen to their concerns like real people.
I'm not trying to argue for the sake of argument, but Harmony Gold doesn't give-off the aura that they care what the fans think. Maybe they do care, but in the enviornment most conducive to listening (namely, Robotech.com) they need to do a better job of being regular guys instead of portraying themselves as the unreachable Magnificent Seven.

Do you really think DiTillio and Forward were active posters on those alt.transformers internet groups during the Beast Wars days? They were lurkers, keeping an eye on what did and didn't work, contacting people personally when they needed more concrete details. I wouldn't be terribly surprised if Tommy and the bunch did that as well. You forget also that the folks at Harmony Gold come onto Space Station Liberty occasionally, an online Talk Radio show where the listeners CAN ask them the rough questions you want so dearly. It's rare, but the opportunity is there.
If HG seems cold, keep in mind that Harmony Gold is a business and Robotech is a PRODUCT. It's not your best friend, and it's not some gift from God. It's a product, and has always been one. A flawed product, even. Harmony Gold's job as a company is to do what they're doing now, and I really don't know why you expect more.
Besides, they could be worse: they could be Disney, which until the Pixar folk were integrated was a cold as a corpse towards their followers. The folks at Harmony Gold are a LOT more sociable.
I will add that there is ALWAYS room for improvement on HG's fan-creator relations, however. They COULD stand to be more sociable than they are now, and I think they will be once production on SC2 really starts gearing up.
I just wish they would hire a competent marketer. Shadow Chronicle's public relation problems before release will be the stuff of legends.
Work together?...When was the last time an opinion from a fan was taken in consideration???
I just fail to see how is there a cooperation when the ones in charge do not listen a thing( so please FIRE THEM once and for all)
And once again. Bravo for the comparison. (It is 17 years since 1990.... and Yet Chronicles is simply so bad that it just cant be corrected)
+Hiring a rookie CGI team(suffering from rookie mistakes)is making it worse...

Botom line. It is ok to work together. But to convince people to buy JUNK is out order. Because amont other things it really insults people's inteligence...
+ they aparently need new competent MARKETER + New competent Website admin,,,,
Cause a competent website admin should know that a site needs to be always up to date, and that banning people for disagreeing results in losing customers...

Actually, if you look through my posts you'll see I've never tried to convince anyone to buy anything. If you don't like Shadow Chronicles 1, you don't/didn't have to buy it. If you don't think you'll like SC2 once we start getting some information about it, you don't have to buy it. I just don't get this whole line of thought that because you don't like where SC1 went, that SC2 by extension will suck and so we must throw the entire effort out the window. If you don't like SC1, work to get Tommy and the bunch at HG to see where SC2 can improve over SC1.
Whether you like it or not, so long as SALES support the SC line of movies as they've supported SC1, these movies are what we're getting. Isn't it just common sense as fans to do our best to make sure that the movies are as good as we can influence?
SC1 was designed to be a bridge to a new chapter of Robotech. This is EXACTLY the time to impose whatever will we can over the story (and I single out the story because the animation problems are likely to be corrected after the hazing HG has acknowledged it's gotten from the fans), because we're essentially starting from square 1 here. Why not fight to make SC2 the best it can be?
Say again? ,,, Where is an evidence of good sales?...exept for the yunes saying ahh we sell it good...(offcourse they wont say otherwise, They might get fired if they admit a failiure)
From a point of view of an average Joe, a non robotech fan( not a man who says well waitin 20 years..).Do you think it can catch attention??
Think about it c,mon. Inspite all the story good/bad , the bad CGI kills it of at the start. Nowadays spoiled teens want to see good looking.( im in the business i know...)
So i even accept TSC 1 has "mediocre" sales.( a trap by Robotech in the title).. But after seeing it... it becomes evident that average Joe wont even bother to think about it again... and the least of all buy it...
So repairing in this case... is a bad choise...
By totaly changing hte direction( and saying it aloud).. we might be able torepair the damage... somehow..

If the sales of SC1 weren't good, Funimation would never have signed with Harmony Gold to help fund SC2. That's evidence enough, but Yune also wouldn't have referenced things like the DVD sales recouping all production costs if its weren't true, because that information can be referencd and checked. He'd have used a more vagure phrasing like "the sales exceeded/met expectations."

To be honest, as someone who's been a pretty diehard anime fan for around 15 years or so, I though the animation was pretty serviceable, even the 3D. Not cutting-edge extraordinary, Hellsing Ultimate-quality...but serviceable in telling the story. The animation was stiff and the explosions lame (and they REALLY need better Haydonite ship designs), and there's an incredible amount of room for improvement in animation and texturing, but I didn't have any trouble watching the animation itself. I simply took the simplistic approach to the models as a shortcut to ease the transition between the 2D and 3D elements (which is typical with cel shading in anime these days), and moved on.
You guys mocking the 3D as "1994 quality CG" REALLY need to go watch ACTUAL mid-90s CG like Reboot and Beast Wars...Shadow Chronicles' 3D is considerably more advanced.
Yune would do anything. And you consider
-just enough to recoup production costs - Good sales??
If at least that wasnt done one can take and shoot into his own head.
"Shadow Chronicles' 3D is considerably more advanced."
For mid 90's yes. Just because the cgi wasnt even extensively used back then. The extensive usage of cgi has begun after 2000.
Ant in the context...Shadow Chronicles "CGI" is 10 years behing the time....
How about looking into post 2000 CGI... It can never compare...( cannot even compare with cinematics for the game Starcraft(blizzard 1998)....And that tells quite enough about it.
YOu want expert opinion. Agree with opening discusions on CGI forums???( i take myself as an expert)
In the context i am performing an extensive analysis of the CGI in Shadow chronicles.
And i have just begun...

So whatever can be said about the story. The not "LOW END" but "UNPROFESIONAL" and "AMATEUR" CGI is a FACT.
Shows level of skill under 3 years of experience( as a teacher i know that)...
