A few comments...

I don't know where to start. It seems that my blog has attracted the most angry Robotech fans on the planet. They're not just angry...they're ready to shoot up every person that comes near them. What the hell has happened??

Yeah, I know the hardcore community has already had major debates, flame wars, and some wackos, but come on. We're at an era where Robotech so dearly needs the fans to survive. The peak of our popularity of a community has come and gone. Why are we still attacking each other? I can completely agree and disagree with reasons to be upset with Harmony Gold. That's normal to attack the "company." However, the war between fans need to stop. We all love Robotech. We all have our own beliefs about it. We need to stay together and support each other.

Hey, some people didn't like that I even pointed out that MedMapGuy may leave. He's doing a lot more than some of the people who complain. He actually puts effort in creating fan art, fan films, and a pretty interesting blog. Some of you complain about my blog, but I don't see you trying to help me. I'm open to friendly support and suggestions. My blog is fully open for other people's content. However, no one ever cares to submit much. I give thanks to the very few who do. Robotech as a whole has really lost its active community. People don't give any sign of support much anymore. When there is some sign of life, it's hatred, not help. What the hell is wrong? I don't care if you think Harmony Gold ran Robotech into the ground. It doesn't change anything. You and I are still fans, aren't we? It's the responsibility of the community to keep Robotech alive for ourselves. We are the ones who will generate the excitement and draw. A company doesn't decide this. The consumers do. The fandom are the ones who make and break products. It doesn't even matter if the product is bad, the community can make itself happy through its own means.

So, I think we need to point our guns elsewhere and help unite the fans. We will disagree, but we are people. If you're a Robotech fan, then you should be welcomed with open arms no matter your beliefs. No, we may not get along, but harsh comments don't change people. There's also the matter that Harmony Gold and the fandom are two different entities. Don't get them confused. The fandom must continue to support itself within or face the reality that Robotech can no longer go on with or without a corporate backing. Don't let your hatred or loyalty to Harmony Gold stop you from putting the fandom first. We must stick together and help one another.

I ask you to be supportive, helpful, and friendly. We can all work together. Stop the hatred towards your fellow fan. Thanks.

Note: My blog is very flexible. I'm very open to new and additional ideas in a constructive matter. We can all work together to bring a new age to Robotech.

Yipi that is the way to do it. Some original opinion.. That is what the blog needs. And for that you got all my support alright...

Keep it up :)

-About uniting....( to HG)

1 - Fans are "Fans" because they like (love) the things they are fans of..
- If someone doesn't like(love) something... he cant be a Fan of the "something"..

2 - Do not tell a fan what he must love... because it doesnt work that way... (you endoulge the fans... not the other way around)

3 - If you dont make sequels.. fandom dies... Fans get old, go away....

5 - Do not make lowsy(amateur) sequels no one can be a fan of... if you expect fan suport......

6 - Do not create artificial "hatred" by censoring a fans right to an opinion( if negative) and alowing it only if positive...

7 -Work together with the fans...which you do by "listening" to what they say...(no matter to being positive or negative)

8 -In order for something to survive it needs a good arketing. -Do not hire incompetent people to do that job.( it is esential)

- Bottom line.. Robotech needs fans desperatly. But the fans are being pushed away by the "creator"

It is too much to keep pushing the limits of people's patience by not respecting a single one of the above.....

The ball is in the hands of the "creator" now.... And the "Creator" is the only one enpowered to solve this problem..

Because if this sharade continues for couple more years... what is gonna happend is

- Fans will keep jumping one onto the other( harder and harder)
-Less patient fans are going to leave(too many already did)
-New fans will not be created( due to lowsy sequels and painfully bad marketing..)

And for those of you who actualy do not understand how alarming the situation is, it is time to finaly start thinking....(and look around you...see how many new young people know what are we fans off.)

I agree with you on most of those points. I completely agree that our support for a product is damaged when the company pushes us away.

I would disagree that we must be so dependent on the "creator."

Edit: I disagreed so much that I wrote enough for another blog entry. Please check out that entry above this one. Thanks.

Dependance on the relation creator-fan is an endless loop( should be)

On one side the fans always want sequels...and for that are dependant of the creator...

On the other side the creator wants to sell his product. And in the matter is dependent of the fans.( who buy the product)

However in this case what we have a distortion of this relation. Because what we have is the creator
performing a suicide(harakiri)by opressing its fans....(dividing the fanbase,censorship...)and yet still expecting for the same fans to keep buying...

And this influences heavily on the fans, because they realise they wont see worthy sequels(and they are getting old).... so some leave, some say oh well better then nothing....

And some others decide to Fight, and Fight... and continue Fighting.. for a better tomorow..

If you ask me. The best is to put our diferences aside, and all join in a combined effort to put an ultimatum in front of the creator..(to let them know this must change)

That is what i fight for...

I agree again. You're right in your statement that the creators need to realize that if they want to sell their products then they must attempt to listen to the fans. We all have to stick together.

Then you answered you own question of what to use this blog for...

Use it to promote that idea... Use it to fight for forming a fan union....

But also beware. Beware of the machinery of the creator. They will always attempt to disrupt this idea.

A comunity without a stand suits them most... As long as we are not together they are strong...

When we get together... they become weak....

Well, my purpose of having a blog was the hope that I could get the community more responsive and active again. I wanted to promote people's fan projects and center on the community. I haven't been doing a lot, but whatever needed to bring people here. I'm not interested in working alone. People need to work and submit. The more people who come, the more we can work together.

I don't know where to start. It seems that my blog has attracted the most angry Robotech fans on the planet.

And I wasnt even posting here!

There's a major flaw in your reasoning. Shadow Chronicles fans are Shadow Chronicles fans. Robotech fans are Robotech fans. The fact that HG can legally stamp a Robotech label in any shit they want doesnt make that shit any Robotech. Robotech is what's based on Robotech. Shadow Chronicles is not. It's based on cracky Yunes, Mc Kinney and Mospeada ideas, not Robotech ideas.
"We are all Robotech fans" . Not really, here there are Robotech fans and Shadow Chronicles fans. And many of the Shadow Chronicles supporters are sucky fans who supports it because they have some connection with the creators, they receive from them support, contacts and informations to run their sites. Their opinions are based in their beneficits they receive, and they are worth nothing.
