Fan Creation: Jpn Macross FanFilm Preview

MadMedGuy is at it again. He has created a preview of his next fanfilm creation. This time he returns back to the japanese Macross universe during the 2012 era. This relates to the japanese SDF Macross and not Robotech.

"I wanted to bridge the gap between the Macross television show and its music video sequel "Macross Flashback 2012". - MedMapGuy

the masters, I don't think you actually watched the movie before you posted this.

Jesus Christ in a rocket-powered wheelchair, could this guy be more of an attention whore?

Anonymous said...

So what??? Just because the guy put some lines of text in there makes the movie not watchable???

This Roger guy never ceases to amaze me.. all negative reactions to what the fandom does...

Yunie or????

Just because a fan creates something doesn't make it immune to criticism.

And this is what I think of when you use the word "Yunie":

Well, you're certainly right about that comparison: They both consistently have really dumb looks on their faces, and are best used by more intelligent humans as vehicles to transport them where they want to go. :)

lol...an exelant comparison.
That is exactly how a Yunie(fan of the Yun brothers)..should look like... :)

@Roger

BTW : Do you find Chriss "the Yunie" Meadows podcast(aka for blind people..), only reading contents of this (and the other blog..) selectively offcourse... more interesting???

Please rephrase the question in the form of a question.

I guess i need to simplify it....

Did you find Chris "Yunie" Meadows's newest podcast more entertaining then someone's FAN project??

MedMapGuy's movie and Space Station Liberty are two completely different things, I don't understand how one can compare them. It's like saying, "What's better, listening to talk radio or watching a movie?"

However, I do listen to Space Station Liberty on a regular basis, and I call in and participate. This is the first time I've seen MedMapGuy's work, and I give it a thumbs down because it's just a thinly veiled whiny rant about the people that work at Harmony Gold.

Here's the deal: If people like MedMapGuy and UEG were truly creative people as they describe themselves, they wouldn't be creating fan films based on other people's intellectual property. They'd be doing something completely original.

If they were well-balanced people with a healthy outlook on life, they wouldn't be trolling every blog and message board for praise, and they wouldn't be spending every minute trying to convince everyone that the people that make Robotech are somehow evil, and that Robotech really belongs to them. It doesn't.

And with that, I'm done.

Actually they can compare........They both are fanworks....

So in the matter that podcast is merely a FAN bashing other FANS...how pathetic is that......
A man who gave himself an authority to talk about other people who do the same, by considering himself a higher being...

And as i see it...so are you pal...

Have you actualy bothered to go and see the U.E.G homepage?? Because if you actualy had... what you would see is 100 percent original animation, over 80 percent compelety original designwork... and most important our CGI( a work of few enthusiasts) looks by all standards better then the one in the "Official" TSC....

And that is your greatest problem. You just can get over the fact that a few Hobbyists work better( with 0 budget).
And as mentioned..the U.E.G is already in production of an all original(not RT related)...anime..

As opposed to Space Station Liberty's thinly veiled rant(s) about the people that work at Harmony Gold which, by contrast, supports instead of criticises? Geez, man, get a grip on things: Your boy-toy Robotech Master kisses Harmony Gold ass and MedMapGuy fights to kick it. According to your logic, then, they're both wasting their times. For some reason, the wussified people think that it's okay to praise but not to criticise. It just leads to a society of people patting each other on the ass everywhere they go...like boy-toys do for each other.

> If people like MedMapGuy and UEG

Good point! Tommy Yune and his gang of can't-do-much-but-license people do the same thing with Robotech that MedMapGuy and the U.E.G. do--make derivative works. Start criticising them for being less-creative than they could possibly be, and maybe people would actually start listening (instead of laughing) at your pathetic attempts to say that Robotech fanworks are inferior.

But in the end, you're absolutely right about wasting time on Robotech instead of new stuff. So do us all a favour and tell your man-friend Robotech Master that his glory days of SteelFalcon.com work are gone and he needs to shut up. He doesn't need to make lifeless press releases for Google, he doesn't need to spam every message board in town, and he no longer needs to act like he knows what he's talking-about. When one side gives-up, the other side won't have to fight for balance any longer. But I think it's fairly clear that a lot of this fan-outpour has resulted from the fact that mindless supporters of the Harmony Gold regime get attention their own merits don't deserve, and so, in fighting back (in an equal-and-opposite mannerism) the Robotech fandom as a whole becomes unbiased, as they should.

You might be a decent thinker, Harkavy, but your philosophies are totally in the miscreant category. I'm not above acknowledging what things you say make sense, but if your only arguements against criticising things are "it would be better if we didn't," then it's gonna be a drawn-out battle between open-thinkers and closed-minded-peoples in the Robotech fandom.

Yours in the protoculture,
Khyron_Prime

NOTE: I am aware that Roger smartly made his post about how he won't post a reply here anymor - I will still say my piece though. I'm glad Roger Harkavy has finally shown his true colors. I knew that Roger disrespected me right from the beginning, but I didn't realize he would be so affected by my complaints against Harmony Gold. I refuse to use the term "Yunie", since I too find it crude myself, but gosh. I just can't believe though that he thinks that everything I do is all for the greater goal of making Robotech my own. It isn't, but I guess all the ranting got into your eyes. Yes, I get emotional and I say things that are said out of anger, but for you to personally trash my stuff because you disagree with my methods and point of view is quite interesting... While you try to be "the better man" in all these Shadow Chronicles hating situations, I think you're just shooting yourself in the foot (disagree with me all you want). And great, attacking my personal life and how I love to spend my free time "trolling" Robotech forums... Hey, Roger - please go back to Japan and stay there. Or learn your manners before teaching it to others. You gave us some great unused lineart in the past, and I thank you for that with the bottom of my heart, but please, don't you think you weren't being an attention whore when that broke out? Having your name all over the blogs and the SSL shows? And I thought you were a nice guy.
