Pre-Order the Robotech RPG Today

As heard on Space Station Liberty, the Robotech Shadow Chronicles RPG book has expanded to over 300 pages and will cost more money in the stores. HOWEVER, Palladium will honor the original stated price of 16.95 on its first printing. Pre-order it from Palladium today to ensure you get this cheaper price. This book was only going to be 192 pages originally. Finally, the RPG book will release on the first week of April.

I have the Robotech Shadow Chronicles RPG. I must say it's a beautiful book. There are major problems with the game though. One, it assumes you know the Palladium system. The organization is terrible. Terrible. It starts out talking about the Invid, then it goes into Invid mecha, Haydonite mecha, optional character creation rules, then it talks about the UEEF (REF) and its mecha... all the while referencing game stats that the book as not explained yet.... now we're at page 196 and it talks about character creation (again) where you can imagine ruled get repeated from the optional character creation rules on page 64. The Game Rules, the Palladium system, is shoe-horned into the 7 step character creation process. For example, Step 3 is determining your hit points and SDC. That should be half a page. Role these dice, add these modifiers. Move on to the next character creation step... But, it then goes on to give you the mechancis of how hit points and SDC applies to the game, and then it talks about Mega Damage (inflicted by mecha). Step 4 is picking an alignment. That's fine. Step 5 is OCC and Skills--now you have to filp back to the Optional Character Creation rules to see the descriptions of the OCCs. Oh, and Step 7 in the character creation process isn't even a part of the creation process. It's called Understanding Combat. And it's the game mechanics of combat.

Then, near the end of the book there's more about the Invid that should've been the beginning of the book where they talk about the Invid and the Invid mecha.

In short, the book is a mess. And I'm amazed given the amount of time Palladium spent on it. I mean how many times was it delayed? Someone needs to teach Palladium some organizational skills.
